Momo and Gyoza Day 8

I woke up early and thought that I might finally come downstairs to sleeping puppies. Not a chance 😆! Both puppies were sitting up staring at me expectantly per usual! (And, check out their separate crates! Still rockin’ it!)

The puppies are so good in the mornings. As soon as I take them outside, they both pee and poop usually within in the first couple of minutes. I think they get cold and hungry, and are eager to get back inside!

This may seem like tmi, but for any potential adopters out there, these two have great solid poop. I’ve had so many puppies who get mushy poop at the slightest stress, change in diet, etc. Not these two so far! They’ve had solid poop since Day 1, even when traveling, changing their food, adding wet food, trying new treats, going to the vet, etc. It’s a gift not to be under-appreciated!

Other than potty training, the puppies are doing so well with their crate training, that I felt they didn’t need to eat all of their food in their crates (they are easily doing several hours in their crates during the day and 8 hours overnight).

So, I did their first official training session yesterday at lunch! Not surprisingly, they both aced it! These are really smart puppies.

They are both very able jumpers, and they love to jump for anything and everything (this is a great thing imo, it means they are structurally able to jump and confident in their own bodies, 100% age-appropriate behavior). So, our training session was focused on rewarding them for “four on the floor” and sit. My reward for the training session was an easy picture of them both sitting!

In addition to training, we wanted to give them a little more enrichment, so yesterday my daughter brought out all of the boxes we had in recycling. The puppies and kids had a blast! Nice free enrichment that is okay to get dragged around, climbed in, climbed over, and ripped up!

And, finally, last night, the kids’ grandparents came over, so the puppies got to meet two new people. They were charmers as always and very sweet.

I can’t emphasize enough how much I like these two puppies! They are both very social, resilient, smart little ones.
