Mixed Breed/Rescue: You can find a GREAT city dog that is mixed breed. Depending on the shelter or rescue group, you will likely know a lot about their temperament based on testing that was done or the foster’s experience and observations.
Doodles: I know they sometimes have a bad reputation, but honestly, most of the ones I meet make great city dogs. I love them! Get a mix of a poodle and one of the above breeds from a good breeder and, chances are, they’ll be a great family member! Also, there’s a great doodle community in DC… you’ll have a big network of fellow doodle lovers!
